Rivers Cuomo, born June 13, 1970) is an American musician and lead singer, lead guitarist, and principal songwriter of the rock band Weezer. He has also worked as a solo artist; in December 2007, he released his debut album, Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo, which featured home demos that Cuomo recorded from 1992–2007. He released his second solo artist album, Alone II: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo, in November 2008. Cuomo mainly plays electric and acoustic guitar, but he can also play drums, bass guitar, clarinet, harmonica, keyboards, trumpet and piano.


Weezer is an American alternative rock band that formed in Los Angeles in 1992. The band now consists of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, guitar), Patrick Wilson (drums, guitar, backing vocals), Brian Bell (guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), and Scott Shriner (bass, backing vocals, keyboards). The band has changed lineups several times since its formation in 1992.[8] They have released seven full-length albums, six EPs, and a DVD. Weezer has sold more than eight million records in the US to date. The band is best known for their successful singles "Buddy Holly", "Undone - The Sweater Song", "Island in the Sun", "Beverly Hills", and "Pork and Beans".  The band's seventh studio album, Raditude,[10] was released on November 3, 2009. The album's first single, entitled "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To", was released on August 18, 2009
